Go an entire month without drinking soda at all! No soda allowed - no exceptions!
Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.
Giving up soda for a month may seem like a difficult challenge if you usually drink at least one a day. Luckily, there are plenty of healthy alternatives to soda available that will make this task easier.
One way to make the challenge easier is to keep a variety of great-tasting drinks on hand. This way, you won’t miss the convenience of soda and be tempted to cheat.
Stock up on lemons and limes, and add slices to a tall glass of ice water. If you keep some slices of fresh fruit in the refrigerator, they’ll be ready when you need them. This is a refreshing way to perk up plain water.
If you’re missing caffeine, you can easily brew a batch of green tea and keep it refrigerated in a pitcher. There are lots of different flavors of tea to choose from, and you can try decaffeinated as well.
Iced coffee is another alternative to soda. If you already drink coffee, make an extra amount and keep it in the refrigerator to pour over ice later. Try searching for different recipes to find one that you like best.
You can also buy a reusable tumbler with a straw to take your favorite cold drink with you. This is a good way to avoid buying soda when you’re away from home, and you’ll save money too.
When you dine out, check the menu to see what options are available. Many places offer a variety of beverages such as fruit juice, lemonade, flavored teas, and coffee. You can also try mineral water with lemon, for a change of pace.
If you need some extra motivation, think of the ingredients in soda and remind yourself that you are making a positive change in your diet. After winning the challenge, you can always try soda again, but you may be much happier without it.
