25 Dips Challenge Additional Information

One of the best ways to test yourself is to take a challenge. When you are involved with strength training, the 25 Dips Challenge can be a great way to push yourself and create a goal to work towards

The Challenge is to complete 25 dips consecutively without stopping. Once you have successfully made it to 25, you have finished the challenge and can move on to something else.

Most people can do about five or so without having any difficulty. More than that and you can see why it is a challenge.

First, you must know what a dip is. You should be using a dip bar or rings you your arms straight and shoulders over your hands. You will then lower your body until your arms are bent at a 90-degree angle. Then life your body up and return to the starting position.

This is a great exercise for working your triceps, deltoids and pectorals.

In order to try and do 25 of these back to back, you must try to focus on clean movements and locking your shoulder joints as much as possible. If you are straining too much, you could end up injuring your rotator cuff in the process.

Focus on the task at hand and do as many as you feel comfortable with doing. If you can only do 7 dips, that’s okay but always have future goals. The next time you try, go for 8 and then 9. Pushing yourself isn’t going to make it any easier.

Once you are on the dip bar or rings, you can choose to keep your legs straight or bend at the knee – whichever gives you the most leverage to be able to perform the dip. Keep your body upright, though. Leaning forward or backward is going to create an imbalance and you won’t be able to as many consecutively as the challenge calls for.

The challenge can be amongst friends, for your own personal gain or within the confines of a gym. Once you have reached the 25, you might want to show your coach or trainer as you may even get your name on a poster somewhere inside the gym.
