How to do the Alternating Incline Dumbbell Curl - Learn Proper Alternating Incline Dumbbell Curl Form

  1. Step 1: With a dumbbell of appropriate weight in each hand, straddle an incline bench and then place your back against the padding. Extend your arms downward with palms facing in and the dumbbells parallel to the floor.
  2. Step 2: Keep your upper arm steady and while breathing out, rotate your right palm forward. Slowly curl the dumbbell upward by bending your elbow until the dumbbell nearly touches the shoulder.
  3. Step 3: Hold this position for one count while contracting the bicep.
  4. Step 4: While breathing in, slowly return to the starting position.
  5. Step 5: Repeat with the left arm.

  1. Variation 1: This exercise can also be done without alternating sides. Instead, perform up to 15 repetitions in a row with one arm and then perform the same number of repetitions with the other arm.
