How to do the Diamond Push-Up - Learn Proper Diamond Push-Up Form

  1. Step 1: Get into a standard push-up position. Except this time move your hands together so that your thumbs are touching together and your index fingers are touching together, forming a diamond shape in the open area between your hands.
  2. Step 2: Next, lower yourself down to the ground so that your chest almost touches your hands, pause, then push yourself back up.
  3. Step 3: Repeat as quickly and repeatedly as possible in good form.

  1. Variation 1: Place feet on flat bench to perform a decline diamond push-up.
  2. Variation 2: Have a partner place a weight plate on your back. Perform exercise as usual.
  3. Variation 3: If possible use only one hand for an intense workout.

  1. Tip 1: Keep elbows tucked into sides during the whole exercise.
  2. Tip 2: As always keep your body in straight line. Do not let your hips sag down.
  3. Tip 3: Breathe. Be sure to exhale when pushing up and inhaling on way down.
