How to do the Dip Machine - Learn Proper Dip Machine Form

  1. Step 1: Sit down on a dip machine. Choose a weight and grasp the handles firmly.
  2. Step 2: Keep your elbows close to your body. They should be bent at a 90 degree angle.
  3. Step 3: Contract your triceps and extend your arms down as you exhale. As you contract the triceps, extend your arms downwards as you exhale. Tip: At the bottom of the movement, focus on keeping a little bend in your arms to keep tension on the triceps muscle.
  4. Step 4: Move your arms back to the starting position as you inhale.
  5. Step 5: Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

  1. Variation 1: Use parallel bars to perform this exercise.
  2. Variation 2: Use a triceps dip assist machine.
