How to do the Heel to Butt Walk - Learn Proper Heel to Butt Walk Form

  1. Step 1: Stand tall with arms at your sides.
  2. Step 2: Step forward with your left foot, then lift your right ankle to your butt. Grab your right ankle with your right hand and pull ankle as close to your butt as possible.
  3. Step 3: Release ankle, take three steps, raise and grab your left ankle. Alternate legs back and forth.

  1. Variation 1: Stand upright and perform exercise without walking. Grab onto a sturdy object with free hand if necessary for balance.
  2. Variation 2: Perform forward and back leg swings. Stand next to a study object and swing your right leg forward as high as possible and then swing back as far as possible. Repeat swinging back and forth for 30 seconds.
  3. Variation 3: Perform "Variation 2" but swing legs side-to-side (laterally) instead of back and forth.
